Hanging Bat Craft

Repurpose an empty toilet paper roll to make a cute bat friend to hang out with!

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Bat wing template
  • Scissors
  • Paint or markers
  • Pipe cleaners
  • School glue
  • Hole punch or tape
  • Construction paper (optional)
  • Googly eyes (optional)

  1. Paint your empty toilet paper roll any color you choose and let dry. This will be the bat’s body.
  2. Download and print the bat wing template. You can decorate the wings with paint or markers, or use it to trace the wings on construction paper
  3. Cut out your wings and two small triangles to use for ears, and glue them on the back of your roll. You can also add googly eyes to the front, or draw your own with a market or paint. Give the bat a cute smile or funny teeth!
  4. Cut a pipe cleaner in half to make two legs. Punch two holes in the bottom of the tube to attach the pipe cleaners, or tape them to the back. You can also bend little feet from the pipe cleansers!
  5. Hang up and enjoy your new bat friend!
